SUMMARY AND SUGGESTION
Purposes of Practicum
I am a student majoring
in economic education. I joined SEAMEO Sea Teacher because I realized that in
the global era students were competing globally. In Sea Teacher, i learned English. I also learned various models and methods of learning in the
Philippines. Sea teacher made increase my knowledge for ready competition in the global world.
Procedures of Practicum
I came to the University
of The Immaculate Conception and was welcomed by Mr. Rene, Mrs. Solomon, Mrs.
Prague, and Ms. Hellene. After that, I went to go to the school for introduced to Mrs. Lilbeth as the academic officer in high school. Next, I was
introduced to all students in the Monday ceremony. After the ceremony, I
was met by my cooperating teacher named Ms. Mary Fritz. Ms. Mary explained the
school rules, teaching schedule, school conditions, school discipline, how to
teach.
Outcome of Practicum
I have the knowledge of
how to explain lessons easily to students. I also learned a new culture in
Davao Philippines. I can also manage the class well through understanding the
character of students in the class. I can also combine direct learning, group
activity, and digital learning models.
The Challenges of
Practicum
My challenge is English communication because I am still learning. So, I studied extra
English to be able to communicate well. The character of high school
students is a challenge for me too, because students sometimes noisy in learning. I always given instructions to students for staying focused when I
am giving out material and being active in discussions.
Overall Impression
I felt very happy to be
teaching Senior High School University of The Immaculate Conception. I hope, my teaching material can useful for student and my students can doing exam day with well.
Suggestion for Future
Improvement
I feel that UIC is very
good at managing the school system. My advice in learning in class is to take
more advantage of digital learning because it is currently entering the era of
the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
